Team Reid Briggs walking 100km for Carers Charity

As part of the Reid Briggs 50 years in business commemorations we have a team of 10 walkers who are tackling a 100 kilometre walk  (62 miles) along the River Thames towpath. Our team are busy embarking upon their intensive exercise regime to prepare for this endurance feat of non-stop walking during a 24-hour period.

The Big Day is on Saturday 13th September. This is the first time we have undertaken this type of event as a group team. Previously individuals have undertaken full and half marathons for their chosen charities. By pooling our resources and asking staff to nominate their chosen local charity we are excited about what can be achieved in the coming weeks! Following a staff vote to select a local charity, the popular choice was Sussex carers charity Care for the Carers.

There will be lots more news to come with training updates and personal biographies in the words of the individuals as to their reasons for taking part in this unique physical challenge.

Reid Briggs hopes to collectively raise £10,000 for Care for the Carers, an independent charity which supports unpaid carers in East Sussex who look after a relative, friend or neighbour who is frail, disabled or perhaps has a chronic illness.
