On Friday 14th March Eastbourne`s Winter Garden venue is being transformed into the Air Raid Shelter Club as Eastbourne Mayor, Cllr Mike Thompson, plays host to his second annual Charity Fundraising Dinner. Last year it was a 1920`s Speakeasy and this time around it is a Second World War themed event.
The event starts at 7.30pm with a formal dinner with authentic dishes from the era, followed by an evening of entertainment compered by local comedian Tucker with some further surprises promised by Mike. Local photographer Teri Vincent is back by popular request to be the official event photographer capturing the highlights of the evening after doing a super job at last year`s event.
Last year local charity Lark in the Park received the fundraising proceeds and this year there are two beneficiaries:
Chloe`s Fight for Sight - a local lady with a rare visual impairment who is raising awareness and funds for research into the condition. See www.facebook.com/chloesfightforsight
Matthew 25 Mission - a local Christian charity helping people in crisis and offering support to help people rebuild their lives after traumatic occurrences. See www.m25m.btck.co.uk
If you haven`t got your ticket for the party, you need to move quickly and call Nicola Metcalfe on 01323 415020
